On a cold day in November

A bleak sun
As the old sweater
Barely keeping out the cold

The worn bench
Just broken at the edge
Like something inside

Struggling to wrap around
The fading sunlight,
Not quite a sight

The old book
And the blue feather
A reminder of days past,

Steam from the coffee
And ageless patterns last
On an empty mug.

Just around the corner
A breeze blows,
Pages turn, stories roll.

The coffee stains
On the parchment
And fading self, hollows.

A new story to tell
The tale of an adventure
Right at the center.

Memories blink, as eyes blur
The past, an annoying neighbor
On a cold day in November.

So do you remember?
Early together
On a cold day in November.
